In collaboration with Platinus Consulting GmbH, a specialist in business process, project, and information management, Cockpit-Consulting assumed the external project management for the new software applications. The goal was the development and integration of new software applications for the Point of Sale disposition systems within the SAP corporate software framework.

Methodically, the entire project was conducted following the established PMI (US-American Project Management Association) project management method, utilizing milestones and work packages. Additionally, the project team intermittently and situationally employed agile project management using the Scrum model, particularly where swift programming work with short-term usability feedback was crucial.

A significant challenge in this project, due to the broad geographical dispersion of Spar markets in Austria and the varying size dimensions of outlets – ranging from convenience stores to Interspar hypermarkets – was managing the diverse expectations and objectives from the Spar organization. These encompassed distinct requirements for the IT system's applications to the varied expectations of both the clients and users.
