In approximately 60 to 70 percent of all projects, there are issues because budgets and timelines cannot be adhered to. The company Cockpit Consulting from Mondsee is working on a solution.
Prior to the qualification seminar, Cockpit-Consulting, in collaboration with the University of Applied Sciences Steyr, conducted an online evaluation called "e-flash" to assess the current status of Web 2.0 applications in small and medium-sized enterprises. This provided a relatively clear picture of the needs within this category of companies: Social Software had already been introduced, but not through a strategic concept; rather, it had entered the companies more "bottom-up" through the individual activities of engaged employees.
The seminar series began with a journey into the world of Web 2.0, featuring the latest research findings and application examples from companies that extensively use Web 2.0 applications. Professors from the University of Applied Sciences Steyr, from the "Digital Business Management" program, along with Cockpit-Consulting, presented this information, including use cases from consulting practice, in the seminar rooms of the University of Applied Sciences Steyr.
The real work began in the third seminar module. Following the "Learning by Doing" method, Cockpit-Consulting and the University of Applied Sciences Steyr, together with participants, interactively and exemplarily created process maps. The companies then took over the continuation of the process analyses themselves, with virtual coaching providing ongoing support.
Mag. Marion Eher, Managing Director of BlueChip Software GmbH, Zell am See, stated, "During the analysis of our quality assurance processes for the websites we develop, we identified valuable optimization potentials. Instead of the quality checks previously carried out on Microsoft Excel, we will now depict quality in the future with a self-developed, web-based tool. This ensures the highest quality for the customer and saves time."
The next challenge was to have all employees of the respective companies evaluate the evaluated processes in terms of quality and importance for business success. The resulting analysis of success factors, created by the employees themselves with the help of provided calculation templates, provided management with a clear basis for decisions on necessary change processes towards Enterprise 2.0.
During the closing seminar, each company presented its specific action plan for the year 2015. Participants of the qualification seminars concluded that thanks to this program, they had taken a significant and well-founded step towards the digital future of organizational management.
Mag. Dieter Scheruga, Business Unit Manager of the participating company SoftSolution (now adminIQ), St. Florian, summed it up: "Through the analysis of success factors, we discovered weaknesses in our corporate communication that would not have become apparent in day-to-day operations. We will continue to use this tool in the future. We are convinced that we are now on the right path to Enterprise 2.0."

The "Digital Innovation Game" playfully guides towards new products, service offerings, or digital business models. It is based on the gamification method, in the form of competitive team play. The winner is the team with the better innovation idea.
Cost planning in software projects based on the Story Point Method does not focus on the time required but rather on the complexity of functions. According to the ERP Report 2014 on "Organizational Change Management," for instance, 54 % of all ERP projects exceed their budget.
